It’s that time of the year again, and we’re already warming up for the first awards of the year, with the Golden Globes on Sunday. Whoop, more gratuitous fashion spotting!
We thought we’d have a look at the main contenders’ style background and try and hazard a guess at what they might be wearing for the ceremony.

Jennifer Aniston – Cake – something black. I love Jen, bless her, she always looks fabulous but I expect she’ll wear an understated black offering from a trusted designer, in a classic shape. Go on, Jen, prove us wrong this year!

Kiera Knightley – The Imitation Game – now that Kiera is expecting, she’ll probably have the paparazzi looking for any hint of a baby bump. Kiera is a massive fan of Karl Lagerfield, so no doubt he’ll find her something accommodating for the occasion…

Reese Witherspoon – Wild – Reese just adores her bright colours, so we think she will carry on the trend and go for a gown that sets her apart from the rest. Last year he was gorgeous in a simple but colourful aqua blue Calvin Klein dress, will she go for this season’s orange, which would look stunning on her?

Emma Stone – Birdman – difficult to call this one, but she does seem to be a less is more kind of girl, so she might go for something understated and glamorous. A potential candidate for an elegant Marchesa gown, quite possibly.

Jessica Chastain – A Most Violent Year – she’s been a fan of the late Oscar de la Renta for many years, so I’d be surprised if she didn’t pay her own fashionable tribute to him on the red carpet this year.

Julianna Margulies -The Good Wife – she’s known to be partial to a print, so look out for a pretty floral design when Julianna hits the carpet this weekend. Carolina Herrera seems like an obvious choice for gorgeous florals that will attract attention without going OTT.

Whatever the gorgeous Hollywood glitterati are wearing, I’m sure they will look groomed and glamorous, for the first big awards ceremony of 2015.
