It’s that time of year; if you haven’t already had at least one wedding invitation for the coming few months, it’s surprising. The theme for weddings in 2018 seems to be relaxed – unless you’re Harry and Meghan of course, or Eugenie and Dave who also marry this summer.

Cool wedding style

Royal weddings aside, the vibe is certainly in keeping with the current weather – keep it cool and with as little fuss as possible. Bohemian wedding dresses with flowing lines and unstructured style are the way to go, and that chilled and romantic style can also be easily translated to wedding guests’ outfits.

Even in May, before the heatwave set in, there was still an abundance of sleeved dresses at Harry and Meghan’s wedding. The women’s dresses were maybe less formal than you might have expected for a royal wedding, but that’s in keeping with the couple themselves as well as the prevailing trend for more informal (and comfortable) wedding attire.

Looser dresses tend to call for more structured sleeves in a wedding outfit, and you can see evidence of that in the wedding guests here; lots of the ladies are wearing gorgeous flowing, flared and A-line dresses but the sleeves are fitted. You can easily achieve a look like this with any sleeveless dress you already have in your wardrobe; just add a set of Wingz underneath and you’re good to go. You can either match your sleeves with a white dress or be daring and contrast them for a stunning and original touch of style.

Lace – always a winner

Lace always looks great at a wedding, and although we’re selling off our stock of lace Wingz, if you’re quick you can still grab a set at a bargain price. Gorgeous lace detail can make any wedding outfit look a little bit special – even the dress itself, as one of our most recent reviewers, Laura agrees;

It didn’t feel like I was wearing an extra item, it just felt like a natural part of the dress.

I loved wearing the Wingz: they really gave me a confidence boost and now I can refresh my wardrobe and resurrect my strapless and sleeveless tops that have been stuck at the back of the cupboard.”
